About:

Dnyanganga Sanctuary is a protected wildlife sanctuary located in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra, India. Spread across an area of about 205 square kilometers, it is home to diverse wildlife, including species like leopards, deer, wild boar, and a variety of bird species. The sanctuary is named after the Dnyanganga River, which flows through it, adding to the natural beauty of the area.

The forest area is Southern tropical dry deciduous forest, consisting mainly of Teak and Anjan.

Best time to visit: The ideal time to visit the sanctuary is from January to June. Wild animals are best sighted from February to May.

Summer (March to June): Hot and dry, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 40°C, which can make exploring the sanctuary challenging during this season. Monsoon (July to September): The region receives moderate to heavy rainfall, transforming the sanctuary into a lush green haven, with the best views of the flora. Winter (November to February): Cool and pleasant, with temperatures between 10°C and 25°C, making it the best time for wildlife viewing and exploring.

The most popular activity is the guided trips inside the sanctuary to watch the animals, conducted by the local forest department. Regular morning and evening safari rides take tourists into the forest. Explore the sanctuary on a safari to spot leopards, wild boars, and various species of deer in their natural habitat.
