Ozarde Waterfall is a stunning natural waterfall located in the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary, near the village of Ozarde in the Satara district of Maharashtra. It is one of the lesser-known yet beautiful waterfalls in the Western Ghats, attracting nature lovers, trekkers, and photography enthusiasts. The waterfall is surrounded by dense forest, adding to its pristine beauty.

Ozarde Waterfall is located near the Koyna Nagar area in the Satara district. It is nestled within the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is known for its biodiversity and scenic landscapes. The waterfall is about 40 km from Satara town.

Climate/Weather:
Summers (March to June): Warm and dry, with temperatures reaching 35°C. Monsoons (June to September): The best time to visit, as the waterfall is in full flow, and the region receives heavy rainfall. Winters (November to February): Cool and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 25°C, ideal for trekking and exploring.

History:
Ozarde Waterfall is a natural feature of the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary, and its unspoiled beauty has attracted visitors for many years. The sanctuary, including the waterfall, plays a vital role in preserving the region's flora and fauna, and is a part of the larger conservation effort in the Western Ghats.

Koyna Dam and Hydroelectric Plant at Pofli /elore - Though entry is prohibited due to security reasons after 9-11, You can visit them if you have contacts in any of the Govt.

Nehru Garden - Delight for couples, families with kids and nature lovers. It has water bodies, exhibition on Koyna dam, models, "Making of Koyna Dam" - Documentary screening at 11:00 am and 5:00 PM

Koyna Wild Life Sanctuary - The wild life sanctuary is a heaven for exotic flora and fauna. One can look and wonder at the treasures of the jungle. Beetles to birds and creepers to teaks it is the home of rare species of animals and plants.

Tiger Sanctuary Recently Koyna-Chandoli area has been selected for the upcoming Tiger Sanctuary. As per recent count, there are 9 Tigers and 66 Leopards (Bibtya) identified in this region.

By Air:The nearest airport is Pune International Airport, about 190 km from the waterfall.
By Rail:The nearest railway station is Karad, around 60 km from Ozarde Waterfall. You can hire local transport from the station.
By Road:The waterfall is accessible by road from Satara, which is well-connected to major cities like Pune and Mumbai. From Satara, local transport such as taxis can be used to reach Koyna Nagar and the waterfall.
