About:

The Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is a renowned sanctuary in the state of Maharashtra.It is located in Hingni in Wardha of Vidarbha region, covering an area of 61.10-sq-km. This area includes 3,237 hectares of Reserve Forest, 2,213
hectares of Protected Forest, and 660 hectares of Unclassed Forest.Many villages surround the sanctuary.

Flora
The Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is rich in its natural vegetation. The main type of forest in this sanctuary is dry deciduous forest. The sanctuary provides shelter to innumerous plant species, including a few endangered and threatened species. Many plant species in the sanctuary have medicinal and commercial values. Some of the predominant plant species in the Bor Wildlife Sanctuary include Teak, Ain, Tendua, Bamboo, etc. The sanctuary has a comfortable atmosphere and the weather remains predictable and comfortable for most of the time in a year.

Fauna
The Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a rich variety of fauna species that include the mammals, reptiles and birds.The endangered and threatened species like Tiger, Chinkara, etc. are the main attractions of the sanctuary. Some of
the other vital and noteworthy mammal fauna species found in the sanctuary includes Panther, Nilgai (Blue Bull),Sambar, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Bear, Wild Dog, Wild Cat, Bison, Chital, Peacock, Monkey, etc. The sanctuary is
also quite famous for its rich avifauna that includes both the resident and migratory types of birds. Some of the bird species found in the sanctuary are considered as endangered or threatened and they need to be conserved in a

The main attraction of the Borl Wildlife Sanctuary is its great collection of avifauna. Several bird species including both resident and migratory types can be found in this sanctuary. The tallest flying bird of the world Sarus crane inhabits this area and is found in good number. Amravati- The Temple of Goddess Amba is a famous example of spiritual architecture in the Vidharbha Region. There's a legend that when Lord Krishna ran away with Goddess Rukhamini from her wedding ceremony, he used a tunnel laying from Ambadevi temple to Koundinyapur (another spiritual place near Amravati). This tunnel is still in existence but is now closed.
